American Society of Appraisers (ASA) is the oldest multidisciplinary appraisal nonprofit organization established in 1952 in the United States. ASA become an effective professional affiliation of appraisers of all disciplines, working cooperatively to elevate the standards of the appraisal profession. ASA provides its members the most solid grounding in the appraisal principles that underlie all classes of property: real, personal, tangible and intangible.
ASA is a global coverage organization active in Northern America (USA, Canada, Maxico), Europe, China, Japan and Australia.
The vision of the ASA European chapter is to become a widely recognized organization of valuation experts in Europe providing its members with:

HISTORY
The American Society of Technical Appraisers (ASTA) and the Technical Valuation Society (TVS), organized in 1936 and 1939 respectively, were consolidated; thus was created the American Society of Appraisers (ASA).
ASA is a nonprofit organization of individuals that was incorporated in the state of Delaware in 1952 to establish an effective professional affiliation of appraisers of all disciplines, working cooperatively to elevate the standards of the appraisal profession.
The EU Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers (“ASA EU chapter”) has been established in 2015 as independent chapter of ASA. The EU Chapter is dedicated to meeting the valuation needs in European region through education and community service. Headquarters is located in Prague, the Czech Republic.

Jan Marek
Jan Marek, CFA, ASA is the managing partner in European Valuation Institute (EVI). Prior to founding EVI, Jan was a partner in Deloitte, leading the valuation and financial modelling team for Central Europe. At the beginning of his career, he worked as a management consultant, portfolio manager and broker on the Prague Stock Exchange. He has more than 20 years of experience in valuation of companies and other assets, litigation, financial modelling, transfer pricing, competition economics, and other financial analyses.
Jan is a member of the Business Valuation Standards Board at the IVSC, which issues the International Valuation Standards. He has also led the Czech translation of the International Valuation Standards.
Jan is a graduate of the master's program in economics and finance at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University in Prague. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Institute of Economic Studies at Charles University. Jan has lectured at valuation conferences, at the Charles University, the University of Economics and the Judicial Academy.
Bohuslav Černoušek
Bohuslav Cernousek is a Senior Manager and co-leader of Valuation practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers Czech Republic. Bohuslav is Accredited Senior Appraiser with 13 years of experience in the field of valuation. He has done valuation of businesses, company shares, tangible & intangible assets and properties and also valuation for a variety of commercial, tax or financial reporting reasons.During his career he has gathered an extensive experience in valuation methodology and best practice.
In the past Bohuslav has also acted as a Finance Strategy Manager for CR & SR in Tesco and in another Big4 company.
Bob has a masters degree from Finance at Banska University in Ostrava.
